CDU Kaarst calls for careful urban development instead of uncontrolled housing construction

Ingo Kotzian, Chairman of the Kaarst CDU parliamentary group, emphasises the need for cautious further development of the town of Kaarst in order to meet the growing demand for housing in the Rhine district of Neuss to cover. Although he recognises the need for new buildings, Kotzian warns against overburdening the city with uncontrolled housing construction. Instead, he calls for a balanced mix of single-family homes, apartment blocks and socially subsidised housing as well as an appropriate infrastructure.

Why careful urban development is necessary

The housing market in the Rhine district of Neuss is under increasing pressure. More and more people are moving to the region. This is increasing the demand for housing. At the same time, the Kaarst CDU warns that uncontrolled construction could have a negative impact on the quality of life. "The aim is to develop Kaarst sustainably without overburdening the cityscape and infrastructure," says Kotzian.

The demands of the CDU Kaarst: A balanced building concept

In order to meet the requirements, the CDU sees a balanced distribution of different forms of housing as a solution. The following elements take centre stage:

  1. Detached houses: To preserve the character of a small town.
  2. Apartment blocksTo make more efficient use of building land.
  3. Socially subsidised housingTo create housing opportunities for people with lower incomes.
