Building for the future: How the Kaarst Building Committee is modernising our city

Behind the scenes, the Kaarst municipal administration is currently working on far more than just floor plans. The Building Construction Committee has a clear mission: not just to maintain our municipal infrastructure, but to make it sustainable, ecological and economical. But what does this mean in concrete terms for our schools, gymnasiums and administrative buildings?

Standing shoulder to shoulder for Kaarst

Good construction policy does not work on its own. At the centre of the committee's work is a Constructive, cross-party cooperation. Together with the administration and the Technical City Hall, projects are planned in such a way that they not only look good on paper, but also remain within budget.

The focal points: Energetic, modern, barrier-free

Three pillars characterise the Committee's current agenda:

  • Energy-efficient refurbishment: Thanks to targeted funding programmes, Kaarst is investing heavily in sustainability. Public buildings are being made energy-efficient in order to reduce CO₂ emissions and save energy costs in the long term.
  • Focus on education: School construction projects are subject to special monitoring. Quality, costs and deadlines are strictly monitored through regular status reports. In this way, we ensure that learning centres for our children are completed safely and on time.
  • Maintenance & Inclusion: From security technology to accessibility - public buildings must be accessible and safe for all citizens.

Transparency through clear planning

To ensure that citizens know where the budget funds are going, the committee relies on a Transparent list of measures. Priorities are clearly defined here: What is urgently needed? Where is the greatest ecological leverage?

The Building Construction Committee ensures that Kaarst builds a responsible future brick by brick.
