Together with Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, the CDU Kaarst is consistently committed to improving the playgrounds in our city. In a current motion for the meeting of the Youth Welfare Committee on 21 May 2025, the two parliamentary groups are calling for targeted measures to upgrade the playground infrastructure in several districts.
Thanks to our initiative, additional funds have already been made available for playground renovation in the current budget. These funds should now be used sensibly and effectively: "Our children need safe, attractive playgrounds that can also be used in summer," explains Christian Horn-Heinemann, Chairman of the Youth Welfare Committee and CDU mayoral candidate
Specifically, the groups are requesting, among other things
-
Shading on the Bruchweg and Struckerweg playgrounds - e.g. with large-crowned trees or awnings
-
Extensions and modernisation of play equipment at the playgrounds in the centre of Driesch, Schlehenweg, Edelweißstraße and again Bruchweg
-
Refurbishment of seating for parents and grandparents
-
Creation of an overview on the condition of all municipal playgrounds for long-term planning
In the short term, the renovation of the children's playground in Linning, which was pushed through by the CDU and Greens and is therefore already included in the 2025 budget resolutions, is on the agenda. Here, the city is already making concrete proposals for the design and a general overhaul and a participation process. The planned measures are not only aimed at short-term improvements, but also at the sustainable and systematic further development of the playground landscape in Kaarst.
By drawing up an overview of the condition and equipment of all playgrounds, the basis for a transparent prioritisation of future investments is also laid.
The CDU Kaarst is in favour of Kaarst remaining family-friendly - with playgrounds where children can feel good, play and grow up healthily.
