Congratulations on the 50th anniversary of IKEA Germany!

50 years of IKEA in Germany: A milestone for Kaarst

Today we are celebrating a very special occasion: 50 years of IKEA in Germany! As Kaarst residents, we are particularly proud to be part of this anniversary. Not only do we have one of the most modern IKEA shops in Germany here in Kaarst, but we have also made an important contribution to the economic strength of our region.

Kaarst as an important business location: IKEA as a magnet

The IKEA shop in Kaarst has established itself as a magnet for the business location. It not only attracts customers from all over the region, but also promotes economic development and creates jobs. All the more reason to be proud that IKEA is still firmly anchored here.

Political support for IKEA in Kaarst

The successful relocation of the IKEA shop was significantly supported by the CDU and the mayors Herbert Moormann and Dr Ulrike Nienhaus. Their constructive co-operation has helped to ensure that IKEA continues to be located in Kaarst and strengthens the region. The district administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschketogether with other ambassadors, was always on site to provide positive support for the development.

What is happening on the old IKEA site?

Despite the positive development and the modern new shop, one question remains unanswered: What will happen to the old IKEA site? After more than four years without any construction activity on the old site, it is now time for something to happen. The CDU will continue to play an active role in the marketing of the site and ensure that a sustainable and future-orientated use is created.

Main points of the IKEA anniversary and its significance for Kaarst:
