Kaarst CDU executive proposes Christian Horn-Heinemann as candidate for mayor at the general meeting on 26 September 2024

Christian Horn-Heinemann is no stranger to the Kaarst political landscape. He has been actively involved in the interests of citizens for many years and has made a name for himself through his work as Chairman of the Kaarst-Büttgen CDU city association, as Chairman of the Youth Welfare Committee and as a member of Kaarst City Council. At the same time, he is active in the Protestant church community and has been chairman of the presbytery for several years. Married and the father of two children, he not only has the necessary political experience, but also a deep understanding of the needs of families and the local community.
"I am honoured and grateful for the trust that the party executive of the CDU Kaarst has placed in me with this vote," explained Horn-Heinemann after the meeting. "The strong support gives me the motivation to go to the general meeting and tackle the election campaign with full energy and to work for the future of our city." He emphasised that his main goal was to make Kaarst fit for the future and to further strengthen social cohesion. "In Kaarst, we live a special form of togetherness in which young and old, big and small work hand in hand. I want to preserve and further develop this cohesion."
Horn-Heinemann will present his election programme in detail over the coming weeks and months. A particular focus will be on the areas of finance and the economy, education, child and youth development, senior citizens and strengthening the club and community system. "Our children and young people are the future of our city. It is therefore important that we offer them the best conditions to grow up and develop in Kaarst," says Horn-Heinemann. He emphasised the need to invest in educational facilities and to develop modern, future-oriented concepts that offer young people prospects. At the same time, he wants to ensure that the people who have always lived here have a safe environment and good childcare options. "I realise," says Christian Horn-Heinemann, "that in times of great challenges, it will not be easy to manage all the tasks. But Kaarst and its citizens are worth every effort."

Another of Horn-Heinemann's key concerns is the economic stability and further development of Kaarst, particularly in view of the current challenges facing cities and municipalities. "It's no secret that we are in difficult economic times. But right now it is important to set the course for a successful future. Concepts must be developed that not only strengthen Kaarst economically, but can also sustainably improve the quality of life in our city," emphasises Horn-Heinemann.
In this context, it plans to develop targeted measures to promote companies in Kaarst. These measures are intended not only to secure jobs, but also to create new ones in order to consolidate and further expand Kaarst's economic basis and thus create financial opportunities.
Horn-Heinemann sees himself as a mayoral candidate who seeks and cultivates dialogue with citizens. "I want to reach all citizens and also approach those who are not in the front row. The CDU wants to convince people with concrete solutions. An open, transparent dialogue is the basis for the trust that successful cooperation requires," he says. In order to promote this exchange, he announced the establishment of regular citizen dialogues and consultation hours. This should ensure that the concerns, wishes and suggestions of citizens are always heard and integrated into political decision-making processes.
Christian Horn-Heinemann's nomination must now be confirmed by the Kaarst CDU general meeting, which will take place in the coming weeks. Horn-Heinemann is confident and looking forward to the challenges ahead: "I am very much looking forward to a fair and objective election campaign. It is extremely important to me to convince the citizens of our "Kaarst concept for the future", which we will be presenting in detail at the upcoming events. Together with the citizens and my party, I will fight to ensure that Kaarst remains a liveable, successful and dynamic city in the future."
