On 23 May 2024 our Women's Union was represented by a delegation at the ceremony organised by the Women's Union of the Rhine district of Neuss. Hostess and Chairwoman Barbara Brand hosted the event and provided an enjoyable evening in a dignified setting.
Guest speaker Prof Dr Rita Süßmuth gave deep insights and drew a fascinating arc from the Basic Law ("Human dignity is inviolable.") and his mothers ("Men and women have equal rights.") to his own everyday political life today. "We need more courage again!" was one of her messages to society as a whole.
The Democrat of the Year 2024 Stefanie Sassenrath reported on her diverse voluntary work at SkF Neuss and its national organisation. In her view, democracy must generate energy in everyone in order to move the state forward. Her message: Democracy starts in the family.
