On 23 September 1994, the Seniors' Union (SU) Kaarst was founded with 21 members - today the association has almost 250 members. To mark its 30th anniversary, around 150 members and guests attended a ceremony on 28 September 2024 at the Mercure Hotel Kaarst together.

Theo ThissenChairman of the SU and Deputy Mayor of the City of Kaarst, welcomed numerous guests of honour together with his board team, including: Christian Horn-Heinemann (Chairman of the city association, CDU mayoral candidate and chairman of the Protestant Kaarst parish), District Administrator Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke, Sven Ladeck (Chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group), Mayor Ursula Baum, former CDU Mayor Dr Ulrike Nienhaus, Ursel Meis (Chairwoman of the district SU) and Helge Benda (SU State Chairman NRW).

Christian Horn-Heinemann recognised the commitment of the entire Kaarst SU team and thanked all members who support the work of the Seniors' Union through their active participation. The SU Kaarst is not only committed to the interests of the older generation, but also attaches great importance to lively interaction and dialogue with young people.

With the joint canon "Good luck and many blessings", sung by Christian Horn-Heinemann and cantor Wolfgang Weber, the ballroom was brought to life.

We would like to congratulate them on their 30th anniversary and look forward to many more successful years of cohesion and community!

Many thanks also to the photographer Harry Flint for the image material.
