At the general meeting on 5 May 2026, we honoured numerous members for their many years of loyalty to the CDU. A total of 64 members were on the list of honourees, as no honours had been presented in previous years.
Besondere Ehrung für Dr. Franz-Wilhelm Servaes
Ein besonderer Moment des Abends war die Ehrung von Dr. Franz-Wilhelm Servaes. Der ehemalige Direktor des Georg-Büchner-Gymnasiums wurde für 60 Jahre Mitgliedschaft in der CDU ausgezeichnet. Mit seinem langjährigen Engagement hat er unsere Partei und das gesellschaftliche Leben in Kaarst über Jahrzehnte hinweg mitgeprägt.
In addition, 20 members received their certificates for 25, 40 and 50 years of membership in person.
Tribute to Theo Thissen
Special tribute was also paid to Theo Thissen. Former mayor Franz-Josef Moormann gave the laudatory speech and recalled Thissen's decades of commitment to our party and our city.
Theo Thissen was a member of the city council for a total of 46 years and took on numerous tasks during this time. In his speech, Moormann particularly emphasised Thissen's commitment to the new town centre. He also emphasised his close ties to the Christian values of the CDU.
Ehrung für Dagmar Treger
Auch Dagmar Treger wurde aufgrund ihrer langjährigen Mitgliedschaft im Rat und als Kulturausschussvorsitzende sowie ihrer weiteren vielfältigen Aktivitäten für die Partei, Frauenunion und auch für die Stadt Kaarst besonders geehrt.
