On 22 May, Dr Berger, Member of the European Parliament for the town of Kaarst, answered questions from over 50 interested citizens. How is Europe doing worldwide? How can Europe maintain its strength and preserve peace and freedom? These were just some of the many questions that Dr Berger answered.
The strength of Europe is, on the one hand, its diversity and, on the other, its common cohesion based on the European values of peace and freedom. Germany benefits greatly from Europe - also in the economic sphere. It is important to uphold these values and to expand and strengthen them, especially in the current times. However, it is also important that we keep Europe's external borders stable.
The evening ended with numerous discussions, drinks and snacks. "A successful evening and a good talk about Europe - with many legitimate questions and enquiries," said CDU Chairman Christian Horn-Heinemann, "Europe tangible and very close in Kaarst."
